Identify the exact product

Check the full model name and version rather than relying only on the series letter. Include the chosen finish, the accessories in the package and any function that is essential to you. Sharp models within one series can differ. If a screen, camera or access method is important, ask for confirmation for the actual unit to be supplied. Keep the product information alongside the written quotation so there is a clear reference before installation.

Check the door before fixing the arrangement

Share the full entrance, both sides of the existing lock and the door edge. Include the frame, nearby gate, door material and thickness if known. Existing holes, clearances and the way the door opens are part of the assessment. Photos help the initial enquiry; the installer still needs to confirm the actual fit. Raise any building management or fire-door requirements before work is agreed.

Ask what the installation scope includes

Do not assume that a displayed model price automatically covers every fitting requirement. Ask whether installation is included, whether removing the existing lock is part of the job and how additional door work would be handled. If there is a separate gate lock or a combo set, check the scope for each product. Ask how any changes discovered during the fit assessment will be explained and agreed before proceeding.

  • Exact model and supplied version.
  • Installation inclusion and agreed scope.
  • Removal of existing hardware, if needed.
  • Any additional fitting, modification or travel charges.
  • The total amount for the agreed package.

Confirm the location and appointment

Provide the town or postcode for the actual installation address. Fire Red lists coverage in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak; Labuan is not covered. A coverage listing is a starting point for the enquiry, while installer arrangements, timing and the total quote are confirmed for your location and door. Agree on the appointment with Alex rather than assuming a nationwide lead time or same-day availability.

Keep the support terms with the receipt

For the Sharp range, Fire Red states a two-year 1-to-1 exchange warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects, with the warranty on the receipt applying. Battery coverage is one free replacement within one year, subject to the receipt terms. Ask for the applicable coverage and exclusions before ordering, and keep the model, receipt and installation information together. If the package contains more than one product, review the terms for each.

Review everything before confirming

A simple final check is to read the quote back against your original needs: the right model, the required functions, the agreed installation work, your address and the applicable terms. Ask about anything still unclear before choosing a date. After fitting, ask for guidance on the everyday access methods and setup for your supplied model. Keep private codes and passwords out of general enquiry messages and photographs.
