Photograph the whole entrance

Take one clear picture from outside and another from inside, with the full door visible. Include the frame and any nearby gate or grille. If the entrance has two door leaves, show both. Keep the images well lit and avoid covering the handle or lock with your hand.

Keep the photos in a single message thread and describe which side each picture shows. If you have more than one entrance, label the photos by door so the fitting discussion stays clear. An overall view is as useful as a close-up: the installer needs to understand where the lock sits in relation to the frame and any gate.

  • Full entrance from the outside.
  • Full entrance from the inside.
  • Both sides of the current handle and lock.
  • Door edge with the current fittings visible.
  • Nearby gate and the gap between the two sets of hardware.

Show the existing handle and lock

Add close-up pictures of the handle and lock from both sides. Open the door and photograph its edge so the current lock body and visible fittings can be seen. Include any existing holes or damaged areas that may affect the installation discussion. There is no need to dismantle the lock for this initial enquiry.

Include the available clearance

A nearby gate, frame or second handle can affect how the entrance is used. Photograph the space between them from a useful angle. If you know the door thickness or can easily show a measurement, include it. Leave an unknown measurement for the installer to check rather than estimating it as an exact figure.

Describe the door and your location

Tell Alex the door material, whether it is single or double leaf, and whether there are any fire-door markings or building requirements to review. Add your town or postcode and the model you are considering. Fire Red’s listed Malaysia installation areas cover Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak; Labuan is not covered. Timing and the applicable quote are checked for the actual address.

Ask for a complete installation quote

Confirm the exact model and version, the door-fit assessment, installation inclusion and any extra fitting or travel charges before agreeing on a date. If old hardware needs to be removed or the door needs additional work, ask how this is handled in the quote. Keep the final arrangement in writing with the model and installation details.

A helpful enquiry might read: “I am considering Sharp A3-B at the displayed RM999 model price. My entrance is a single wooden door with a nearby metal gate. I am in Johor Bahru. Please check the photos and confirm the complete installation quote.” This gives Fire Red a model, a location and the door context without assuming that every fitting requirement is already known.

Photos support an initial discussion. They do not guarantee suitability or replace the installer’s final assessment. If the entrance is subject to building rules or fire-door requirements, raise that before confirming the model and work. Avoid dismantling or altering your current lock simply to collect information for an enquiry.

Send the photos directly to Alex

Use the contact page to prepare your enquiry, then attach your door pictures in WhatsApp. Include the full entrance, both sides of the existing lock and the door edge. For an existing lock issue, add a brief description or short video and your receipt or installation information. Keep personal access codes and passwords out of the photos.
